About this policy

The Law Offices of Lauren Ross ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website at bankrupt-law.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site or submit a form, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding that information.

We take privacy seriously — especially because many visitors are navigating a difficult financial situation. We handle every piece of information you share with the same discretion we bring to our legal practice. If you have questions not answered here, please contact us directly at lauren@laurenross.com.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: directly through our forms, and limited technical data collected automatically when you visit the site. You are never required to submit a form to browse this website — all submissions are voluntary.

Comprehensive Financial Profile

A complete financial profile: income history, household inventory, monthly budget, statement of affairs, and signature certification — the equivalent of a full attorney intake packet.

Automatically Collected

Technical & Usage Data

IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL — collected by our web host's server logs. We do not use analytics tracking scripts or advertising pixels.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit solely to provide legal services and communicate with you. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not use your information to send unsolicited communications.

Specifically, we use collected information to:

  • Respond to your request for a free consultation
  • Prepare for and conduct your attorney consultation
  • Evaluate your bankruptcy eligibility and applicable California exemptions
  • Communicate with you about your matter via phone or email
  • Comply with legal and professional obligations applicable to a California licensed attorney

We do not sell your data. Your personal and financial information is used exclusively to evaluate your legal situation and provide representation. It is never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes.

Attorney-client privilege & confidentiality

Submitting a form does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship. A formal relationship is established only when both parties agree in writing to the representation.

That said, we treat all information shared through our intake forms as confidential. Lauren Ross, as a licensed California attorney (State Bar No. 106225), has professional and ethical obligations under the California Rules of Professional Conduct to protect information shared with her office in the context of a potential representation.

If you become a client, all communications and documents exchanged in connection with your legal matter are protected by the attorney-client privilege under California Evidence Code § 950 et seq.
